What it is
BrowserStack provides on-demand access to thousands of real browser and device combinations, for both manual checks and automated runs. It removes the cost and maintenance of an in-house device lab, and — more importantly for release decisions — it tests on real hardware rather than emulators, where rendering, gestures and performance actually differ.

BrowserStack is how we give clients real-device and real-browser coverage without buying a device lab. We use it for the sign-off tier of the pyramid rather than every run — the fast feedback loop stays local or in containers, and BrowserStack carries the cross-browser and real-device matrix that has to be right before a release. Suites are written so the same code runs locally and remotely with only a capability change, which keeps developers able to debug without a network round trip. We build the device and browser matrix from the client’s own analytics, and we use local tunnelling to test staging environments that aren’t publicly reachable. Video and network logs from failed sessions are pulled into the CI report so a cross-browser failure arrives with evidence rather than a device name and a stack trace.
